VISIT THE CITY
Our tour begins at Montevideo’s most important plaza: Plaza Independencia. It is located between Ciudad Vieja and downtown Montevideo. It starts with the Gateway of The Citadel at and ends at the beginning of 18 de Julio Avenue. Along the way, you will see the Legislative Palace and the port.
Next we will go to the old residential neighborhood of El Prado which has distinctive architecture and amazing monuments; we will also visit the Obelisk of Montevideo – officially listed as the Obelisco a los Constituyentes de 1830-, the Parque Batlle y Ordoñez, the Estadio Centenario, and \”La Carreta\” – a bronze monument on granite base.
The Carrasco neighborhood will also be visited followed by a return to the downtown area by a beautiful promenade called Naciones Unidas.
The final stop is Plaza Virgilio, which has beautiful panoramic views.
During the tour, lunch will be taken at one of the following fine restaurants: LA PERDIZ, GARCIA or MERCADO DEL PUERTO.
